A pasta lover’s paradise

Just in case you couldn’t tell by the name of my blog, I love pasta. It’s been my favorite dish since I could eat solid food. So naturally, when I heard about Pastabilities in Greensboro, I knew it was something special. I first experienced Pastabilities during a friend’s 21st birthday dinner. The ten of us sat at a long table in the middle of the restaurant and toasted our friend’s birthday over plates of pasta and glasses of wine. It was a low-key celebration, but altogether perfect.

Pastabilities’ menu is varied, but not overwhelming. Traditional Italian fare, such as lasagna, manicotti, and chicken carbonara, are available. Seafood entrees, hamburgers, and sandwiches round out the menu, making Pastabilities an ideal lunch spot. Vegetarian pasta dishes, such as the Green Piece (fried eggplant, linguini, and marinara) and spaghetti squash primavera (spaghetti squash accompanied by a robust veggie medley) are prominently featured. One of my favorite things to order is the chicken parmesan: the chicken is thin, crispy, and golden brown. The dish has a perfect chicken to pasta ratio, too.

The back of the menu features the Build Your Own pasta section. With several noodle types, herbs, proteins, sauces, cheeses, and toppings, the world is your pasta playground! The ability to tailor your pasta just the way you like it is delightful, while also allowing room to switch it up ever so slightly.

One of the many things I love about Pastabilities is their buttery rolls. They’re baked fresh and served hot prior to the meal. Many of the entrees are the ideal portion size: just enough to fill you up without sending you into a carb coma. This provides the opportunity to enjoy one of Pastabilities’ appetizers (like the mezzaluna) or homemade desserts.

Pastabilities is often abuzz with customers— especially on the weekends. The cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for date night or catching up with friends. Regarding COVID-19 measures, Pastabilities has a designated spot for pick-up orders on the side of the building, making it a breeze for contactless service. Pastabilities has been a fixture in Greensboro since 1995 and continues to be a landmark for pasta lovers.
